You need Hords of the Underdark, when you start a game on HTU, you will get 15 levels. You make your person and than you 'save profile'.
Now, when you start a new game in or the original Neverwinter nights, you can select him/her. You can also go to the arsenal afther making your person in Hords of the Underdark, you'll keep most items, but not things like 'Rough stone' and other things only found in HOTU. But if you save the profile afther that, you can sell it and get filthy rich! Neverwinter Nights FAQs

Iâve been craving a good RPG â specifically D&D, and something set in the Forgotten Realms. After much debate, I settled on NWN2. (I canât do BGII again. Iâve played it to death.)
I know my D&D, and I know the Realms, but I have some questions before I go down the rabbit hole:
Character limit: How many of my own created PCs can I have in my party in Neverwinter Nights 2? From my Googling, it looks like 4. Is that right? And if so, can I increase it to 5+ with a mod?
Free Neverwinter Nights Mods
Graphic mods: Jester rounded up some âessential modsâ here, with emphasis on graphic mods. Would you add anything to the list?
Character editor: Iâm an old pen-and-paper player, and I like to have total control over my characters, even if it means sometimes bending the rules and taking a feat or spell Iâm not technically allowed to have (the 2E books used to encourage players to bend the rules, so long as it wasnât overpowered and it suited the character and campaign).
Is Vordanâs Hero Creator powerful enough to do that? Or should I look at an external editor for total control of my characters?
Modules: I like my D&D pretty dark and mature and close to the source material, like LotR or BGII. The beatles michael jackson. Can someone recommend modules in that vein? If modules get clownish or juvenile, I lose interest real fast â for example, if someone makes an adventure where Iâm supposed to fuck a kobold, Iâm gonna turn that off right away (there are some things that even I won't do for 20 gold pieces).
Lastly, what does it mean when Neverwinter Vault lists mod requirements, such as âOCâ or âXP1â? Does that just mean Original Campaign, and Expansion Pack 1?
